Lexsophos vs. DocJuris

Last reviewed

Lexsophos and DocJuris both help teams respond to a counterparty's changes to a contract. They start from different places. DocJuris is built around playbooks: your preferred positions, fallback language and negotiation guidance. It also offers prompt-based markup when you do not have a playbook. Lexsophos works from your negotiation history: what your team agreed on the same point in earlier deals, with the source file and any comment that explained your position at the time.

Lexsophos is contract intelligence for aviation teams. DocJuris serves legal, procurement and sales operations teams and offers more than 25 apps, including tools for legal operations, compliance, real estate and finance.

When DocJuris may be the better fit

If you want one platform for contract review across legal, procurement and sales, with playbook-based redlining inside Word and separate tools for legal operations and compliance, DocJuris covers more of that work than Lexsophos does.

When Lexsophos may be the better fit

If your team negotiates the same agreement types with the same counterparties, such as MRO general terms, leases or purchase agreements, and keeps the Word versions from those negotiations, Lexsophos shows you what was agreed before and why, before you reply to the redline.

What Lexsophos does not do

  • It is not a Word add-in. You review changes in the Lexsophos workspace and download the next version as a Word document.
  • It does not replace your CLM. Your CLM remains the system of record for signed agreements.
  • It does not cover procurement intake, legal operations or compliance work.
  • It needs the earlier Word versions. If your team kept only signed PDFs, there is less negotiation history to work with.

Questions to ask any contract tool about negotiation history

  • Can it compare a new redline with the versions, tracked changes and comments from earlier negotiations?
  • Can it show the comment that explained a past position, as well as the position itself?
  • Can you see how a clause was handled with this specific counterparty?
  • Does each suggestion link to the source document, so your team can check it?

Become a pilot customer

We are taking on pilot customers among aviation lessors, MROs, financiers and airlines. If your team negotiates the same agreement types with the same counterparties, request a 30-minute walkthrough. We will show you the workspace using illustrative files, and you can decide from there whether a pilot makes sense for your team. You do not need to send us your contracts.
